Accessibility

Access to the house by wheelchair or for those who have trouble climbing stairs is made very easy by a purpose built lift installed during the restoration. The only area not accessible is the Library, however staff can provide a short video showing the appearance of the room. Fully accessible toilets are available, as well as a hearing loop in the shop.

Guided tours for groups

These tours are designed for private groups of 10 people or more and are priced at £12.50 per head.  If you are interested in booking a group, please email tours@strawberryhillhouse.org.uk indicating roughly when you would like your group to visit.  Please note these tours are extremely popular, and should be booked with as much advance notice as possible to avoid disappointment.

Booking a Self-guided visit

Tickets to the house during our public opening hours are self-guided, allowing you to explore the house at your own pace.

On arrival you will receive an abridged version of an 18th century guide to the house written by Horace Walpole for his guests. In each of the rooms friendly stewards can answer any other questions you may have.
