Access to the house by wheelchair or for those who have trouble climbing stairs is made very easy by a purpose built lift installed during the restoration. The only area not accessible is the Library, however staff can provide a short video showing the appearance of the room. Fully accessible toilets are available, as well as a hearing loop in the shop.

An Evening with Sir David Attenborough and the Letters of Horace Walpole

Wed 14 Jun 2017 8:00 PM

In celebration of Horace Walpole’s birthday, Strawberry Hill House is honoured that Sir David Attenborough is joining us to read from Everyman Library's newly re-issued 'Selected Letters of Horace Walpole'.

Come and hear Britain’s best-loved voice reading the wit and wisdom of Strawberry Hill’s founding father, complemented by a rich repertoire of early music from period ensemble FOLLIA.

Tickets are £35, which includes the reading with accompanying period quartet and soprano, a glass of Prosecco or elderflower on arrival and exclusive out-of-hours access to Strawberry Hill House. The money raised from this event will support the ongoing maintenance of the House and Garden.

We hope to see you there.
