Showing visitors around Strawberry Hill has been a part of the house’s history since Horace Walpole’s time. In the 18th century the task was left to his Housekeeper, who had strict instructions of what should be shown and said to visitors. In the 19th century, guests at Lady Waldegrave’s lavish parties were able to admire the stunning interiors and during the 20th century St Mary’s University College employed students and local residents to conduct tours to paying visitors.
We are not currently looking to recruit any further Guides, however new opportunities may be available for the season starting in April 2012.
