Strawberry Hill is magnificent. But the carefully restored and beautifully decorated interiors sadly no longer contain the important 6000 objects and artworks that Horace Walpole once collected. These works reside in public and private collections all over the world. We have ambitions to return some of these masterpieces, but for those objects that are now too delicate to travel we are looking to new innovations in technology.
Following the major success of the production of a facsimile painting of Sir Robert and Lady Walpole and frame created by Factum Foundation, we are now looking to raise funds for further facsimiles. These include the creation of 34 George Vertue drawings of Holbein portraits of the court of Henry VIII, and a Portrait of Mrs Laura Keppel and her Sister, painted by Allan Ramsay and now in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
