The Committee of Taste Café has been newly installed in the Great Cloister of Horace Walpole’s historic house. Originally open to the elements, we have glazed its iconic gothic arches in order to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for visitors to enjoy teas, cakes and lunches for all appetites.
The café provides ample seating inside along with an additional paved seating area outside the glazed arch doors. From here you can enjoy picturesque views of the 18th century restored garden beyond the house, and you are also welcome to take your lunches and snacks out into the garden to enjoy – weather permitting!
The Committee of Taste Café will be open to visitors during the property’s opening times, but will also be available for customers who are not visiting the house, free of charge. We hope that by making the Tea Room available in this way, we will build strong relationships with the local community who have supported the restoration and preservation of Strawberry Hill for many years.
The menu in the café will be seasonal and subject to change so please do enquire before your visit if you have any special requests. It is our aim to always provide dishes for vegetarians and customers with special dietary requirements.
