Front of House Volunteers provide a welcoming experience for visitors as they enter the property, selling and issuing tickets and giving information. As the first people that our visitors will meet, Front of House Volunteers must be engaging, professional and informative. Based within the shop, they should also be happy to give information about stock and make recommendations.
Meet & Greet Volunteers welcome visitors starting their tour of the property, issuing audio guides and starting the introductory film. Volunteers must be engaging, professional and informative. This is an active role in one of the busiest parts of the House.
Room Stewards provide information for visitors as they tour the property, and act as a presence to ensure the security of the collection. Room Stewards must be engaging to our wide range of visitors, friendly and able to talk knowledgeably about the house, its history, restoration and collection.
Education & Outreach Volunteers will assist the Learning and Outreach Coordinators in the planning and running of educational groups to Strawberry Hill. Duties might include running and supervising activities, planning workshops or giving educational tours.
Office Volunteers will give administrative support to all departments across the property. This involves answering phones, taking bookings and answering queries to ensure any contact visitors have with Strawberry Hill prior to being onsite is professionally handled.
Garden Volunteers will assist in restoring the gardens to their original picturesque design. Volunteers should be competent with a wide range of horticultural practices together with being familiar with most garden tools. Joining the project at an exciting time and working in a small team this is a great opportunity to be part of England’s garden heritage.
