This Easter, Strawberry Hill House & Garden invites you to step into spring with a programme that blends history, creativity and outdoor adventure, set against the romantic backdrop of Horace Walpole’s Gothic villa.
From Monday 30 March to Sunday 12 April, the house will be open seven days a week throughout the Easter holidays, welcoming visitors from 10am to 4pm.
Inside the house, a rare highlight awaits in the Red Bedchamber, where Johann Heinrich Müntz’s South East View of Strawberry Hill (1755–58) will be on display. One of the earliest and most precious visual records of Strawberry Hill, this painting offers a glimpse of the house and garden in their formative years, offering a unique glimpse into the moment the Gothic Revival was born.
Outdoors, families can enjoy an Easter Woodland Trail, encouraging younger visitors to explore nature, spot clues and celebrate the arrival of spring. Trail maps will be available for £2, with an easter cupcake reward from the Garden Café at the end.
A varied programme of workshops runs throughout the holidays, from creative Easter craft sessions for children and their grown-ups, to Minibeast Adventures led by Habitats & Heritage, combining learning, making and outdoor discovery. For adults seeking a slower pace, the season concludes with Stitching with Nature, a mindful botanical embroidery workshop inspired by dried flowers and spring growth.
At the end of your visit you can enjoy a light lunch or pre-booked afternoon tea in The Garden Café.
