Become a Volunteer at Strawberry Hill House
Strawberry Hill House & Garden has been open to visitors for over 250 years. Created by Horace Walpole in the 18th century, Strawberry Hill is internationally famous as Britain’s finest example of Georgian Gothic Revival architecture.
Volunteers are at the heart of all that we do at Strawberry Hill House & Garden. We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join our brilliant team as we work together to preserve Horace Walpole’s ‘little Gothic castle.’
We offer a range of opportunities based on your interests—from sharing knowledge as a room or tour guide to supporting event management for weddings or filming, from education support to gaining hands-on experience in office administration roles and maintaining the gardens.

Other Volunteer Roles
Education Volunteer
Assist the Learning Team in the planning and running of educational activities.
Office Volunteer
If you have administration skills and a desire to help behind the scenes at Strawberry Hill House, positions are available to give support to staff across all departments in the office.
Garden Volunteer
Assist with restoring the gardens to their original picturesque design and maintaining the beautiful grounds for all to enjoy.
Conservation and Maintenance Volunteers
Help with the preservation and smooth running of the House. Practical, hands-on people with conservation experience are an important part of our volunteering community.
